How we protect your information

In addition, unlike other internet companies, Pro-term do not store your credit card details for future purchases. Pro-term collects personal information about you that you specifically and voluntarily provide. Personal information includes information that can identify you as a specific individual, such as your name, phone number, or e-mail address. Although you are required to provide personal information in order to complete a purchase or register for a user account many areas of the Pro-term website can be accessed without providing any personal information.

On all the Pro-term website pages that collect personal information, we specifically describe what information is required in order to provide you with the product or service you have requested.

1. Become an Pro-term Ltd user account holder 2. Complete a purchase (either as an account holder or not) 3. Contact Pro-term via the form provided on the website or by phone/email 4. User Account information 5. Pro-term collects your username, password, full name, address, telephone numbers (optional) and e-mail address when you register a user account with us. Note that you do not need to have a user account to purchase products from us via our website, it is purely provided as a service to you to speed up the repeat order process.

Purchase information

Pro-term collects credit card information, including the billing address, card number, card type, cardholder name, and expiration date, in order to bill you for products purchased through Pro-term. Note that Pro-term website obtains your credit card number over an encrypted link so no third party can intercept it and in addition to that your credit card details are then encrypted and stored on our secure internal database until your order is processed.

Contacting Pro-term

Pro-term collects personal information such as your full name, email address, and/or contact telephone number whenever you submit a question ,suggestion, or request assistance from Pro-term.

Other information we collect

Some information is collected automatically every time you visit Pro-term. Pro-term collects information about your computer and assigns you a "cookie" (a small, unique identifier text file) when you visit Pro-term. You do not provide this information, it is collected automatically as a means of supporting your visit to our site (e.g. tracking your shopping basket contents etc.). This cookie does not contain any personal information.

Pro-term collects certain technical information from your computer each time you request a page during a visit to the Pro-term website. When you click through to these websites Pro-term information privacy practices no longer apply. Place an order via the Pro-term website

When you place an order via the Pro-term website you will receive an email confirming your order. The email will contain the personal details you supplied to Pro-term via the checkout form (excluding credit card details for security reasons) and details of your order (i.e. which products you ordered and the associated costs).

Creating Pro-term user account

When you create a Pro-term user account you will receive an email confirming this action. The email will contain the username you chose and the full name you supplied, but not your password (for security reasons).

Closing Pro-term user account

When you close a user account you will receive a email confirming this action. The email will contain the username you chose and the full name you supplied.

Protecting your information

We want our site visitors and user account holders to feel confident about using Pro-term to purchase their products so we are committed to protecting the information we collect. Pro-term has also obtained a digital certificate from one of the major providers of digital security certificates for internet companies. This certificate verifies that when a document is requested via the secure sockets layer protocol from the Pro-term website that Pro-term are a recognised and trusted entity and therefore your browser will negotiate a secure connection to the site (this is what activates the padlock symbol/key symbol in your browser).

Additionally all personal information that you give us is stored on our secure internal database and credit card numbers are encrypted to provide an additional layer of security. Unlike a lot of internet companies who only worry about visible security when you send sensitive personal information to them (e.g. credit card numbers), but then go on to retrieve your information via a standard web link to their back end systems we at Pro-term guarantee to only ever retrieve your sensitive personal information from our webservers via a secure link and can assure you that our systems have been built on this premise.
